Eating Disorder Service
What we offer:
We offer an assessment service, to help people understand the nature of their eating problems and any underlying issues. We can recommend a comprehensive treatment package in collaboration with the individual’s GP, or other agencies who may be involved. We understand the importance of a holistic approach for the treatment of eating disorders and find that the best outcomes are achieved by combining individual therapy with nutritional therapy. If required, psychiatric input is also available. Because we are part of The Tuke Centre we have opportunity to access the full range of therapy services including psychodynamic psychotherapy and family therapy.

Comments from a client:
“I have been attending outpatient appointments at the Tuke Centre for a number of years, and I have found the whole experience very worthwhile, yet challenging but also incredibly supportive. Working with two members of the Tuke Centre team has made my existence outside of hospital possible. The sessions I attend are always a valuable and meaningful experience serving an important part to my recovery.
The staff I work with are both very dependable, knowledgeable and experienced in their given area, but also have a wider knowledge across the board. I find them very approachable, compassionate and empathetic people, yet always maintain the boundaries needed for a professional relationship. I think these qualities have helped me build a strong relationship with the team members, and have allowed me to progress significantly in therapy.
Working with members of The Tuke Centre team has been an invaluable experience for me, and I continue to gain a great deal from weekly sessions at The Tuke Centre. I personally do not think I’d still be an outpatient if it wasn’t for the dedication, determination and passion the staff have for the job they carry out on a daily basis.”
