Open Space Group

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE OPEN AIR 19th SEPTEMBER, 5th DECEMBER, MARCH 20th 2009 — 9.30 am TO 4.00 pm

Imagine a day when you are free to talk and think about your work while walking in the Yorkshire Dales…

Some of the best ideas emerge while walking and talking in the open air. The Open Space group is running for its third year to provide support, development and refreshment for people who need space to think about their work. We meet four times during the year in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We start the day walking, and then pause for lunch and to talk as a group in the open air, before completing the second half of our walk. The group talks about whatever is concerning people in their working lives and whatever else emerges under the open skies of Yorkshire, through its changing seasons.

This group is suitable for anyone in reasonable health, willing to be responsible for themselves on a moderate walk. You need boots, warm waterproof clothing, and a packed lunch. You also need to find your own way to and from the meeting point in the Dales. You need to commit yourself to all four meetings of the group. You need to be able to walk about 8 miles spread over a day, some of it uphill, and well enough to manage being outdoors all day.

Conductors

The group will be led at a gentle pace by Chris Powell, Group Analyst and Head of Tuke Centre and Outpatients at The Retreat, and Andrew Wilson GP and Mental Health Lead for Bradford and Airedale tPCT.

Fees

£160
