What do we do?
The Tuke Centre is a counselling, therapy and psychological assessment service, offering confidential therapy and assessment for people wanting to improve their mental well-being.
We are a charity and our work is underpinned by clear principles of compassion, hope and courage. Appointments take place in a welcoming detached building which provides an informal, relaxed environment. We have free on-site car parking. Please note, however, that parking is limited, especially if you are visiting the North Yorkshire Autism and ADHD Assessment Service. We are easily access by bus, bicycle or on foot.
We can offer a large team of clinical experts from a wide variety of professional disciplines. All are experienced, and fully qualified and accredited by appropriate bodies such as UKCP, BACP, BABCP, RCPsych, HCPC or at an advanced stage of training.
How can you get in touch?
We are here to help you from the moment you get in touch. You can contact us directly by calling 01904 430370 or 424850 or you can email us or use our contact form. There is no need for a GP referral most of the time. If you want to access the Eating Disorder or Autism or Psychiatric services then the approach may be slightly different and you may need a GP referral or a referral from another professional. Please check those sections for further information.
What happens next?
We begin with an in-depth assessment so that we can start to understand how we can work together to improve your mental health or assess your requirements.

If you would find it difficult to come to the Tuke Centre for your therapy then we may be able to offer you an alternative. We might be able to offer you an appointment via a video link, using a secure platform called VSEE. When you call or email just indicate this as your preference and we will take this into account when you have your assessment and we can provide you with further information. You can download a copy of our VSEE policy using the link at the bottom of this page.
