About Elaine Ellet
I joined the Autism and ADHD Service as a Specialist Nurse in July 2017. I am part of the multi-disciplinary diagnostic process involved in assessing adults for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I work on ADHD adult clients’ medication reviews. This involves working collaboratively with the Psychiatrist in the team. I find the Retreat a rewarding place to work with a calm, professional and welcoming atmosphere.
Prior to joining the Retreat, I worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse CPN for the NHS for thirteen years. Whilst working as a CPN, I acted as Care Programme Approach (CPA) Care Co-ordinator for a group of service users managing a defined caseload. I have also worked as a CPN for a Single Point of Access Team. I have considerable experience in both face-to-face routine and urgent mental health and risk assessments and the planning of patient care. I have also taken part in the Single Point of Access telephone triage function, which can be a pressurised environment and also the point for crisis referrals to the NHS.
I have a BSc (Hons ) degree in Mental Health Nursing. Throughout my nursing career I have continued to develop my skills by attending and completing a variety of courses all of which are relevant to my clinical area. In 2010 I completed the Non Medical Prescribing Course and became an Independent Nurse prescriber.
