About Emma Thomson
I am an Integrative and Transpersonal Psychotherapist Accredited by the UKCP. This means I have a holistic approach to psychotherapy, drawing on various psychotherapeutic disciplines including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and the Transpersonal, depending on what is best suited to the individual client and their goals.
I help people dealing with all kinds of issues, learn to befriend their inner world, feel their feelings, and come to a new understanding of who they are. The potential for people to move into a more connected and heartfelt way of being, is what inspires me to do this work and I will be standing with you as you explore this.
Whatever you are dealing with, I offer a calm and supportive presence that allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings safely. At the heart of what I do is the belief that if we can learn to be compassionate to ourselves and be kinder, we can begin to heal.
I have worked with a wide range of issues in a variety of psychotherapeutic settings, including; Universities, the workplace and charities. I specialise in working with anxiety and the issues affecting young adults.
Before retraining as a Counsellor, I was a Learning and Development specialist for over fifteen years; passionate about organisational and personal development, I relish all opportunities to coach and develop.
