About Maria Law
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Trainer and Clinical Supervisor accredited with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP) which is the gold standard for delivery of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, Training and Supervision.
Originally a Psychiatric Nurse, I have been a qualified as a CBT Psychotherapist since 2003, successfully completing a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT at Durham University.
I was a lecturer in CBT at The University of York, training CBT Psychotherapists and during this time successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Academic Practice making me an honorary fellow of Higher Education Academy. During this time I have continued working clinically as this is my true vocation.
The Tuke Centre has continued to enable me to work to my highest level and to continue to develop as a practitioner most recently by developing further skills in Compassion Focused Therapy, using this in conjunction with CBT and with groups.
